McLean, Virginia—Potomac Health Associates, Inc. (PHA) announced that it was retained by Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging (SDMI). SDMI is one of the largest imaging providers in the country headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company currently provides in excess of 250,000 procedures per year at four imaging centers in the greater metropolitan Las Vegas area. A fifth center is scheduled to come online in 2007.
SDMI retained PHA to help it analyze federal market sectors and help it develop a strategy for penetration of selected markets for imaging and teleradiology. In addition, PHA is exploring opportunities for collaborative relationships with companies that qualify for one or more statutory contracting preferences under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
Starting as the private radiology practice of Leon Steinberg back in 1968, SDMI has grown into one of the largest imaging practices in the country. With 19 board certified radiologists spanning virtually every imaging subspecialty, the company is supported by an administrative staff in excess of 300 individuals.
